Zachary T. Kowaleski

Economic Research Fellow (2016-2018)

Zach Kowaleski was an economic research fellow in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis at the PCAOB between October 2016 and June 2018. He is now an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Texas at Austin. Zach's research studies the effect of the institutional setting on behavior using the audit and broker-dealer settings. His fellowship project examines the audits of broker-dealers. Other work has been published in the Journal of Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting & Economics, and the Journal of Financial Economics.

Zach worked at PwC and specialized in the audits of financial service companies. He began his academic career at the University of Notre Dame after earning his BBA, MAcc, and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
